Old-school Porn Meets New-age Tech
YNOT – The twain between old-school content and new-age technology has met at PVLocker with Arrow Productions’ Golden Age porn appearing on Pink Visual’s cloud-based distribution platform.
PVLocker’s initial selection of classic Arrow content includes Deep Throat, Bill Osco’s Alice in Wonderland and the 1981 John Christopher classic Babe, featuring a young Ron Jeremy just four years into his now-legendary career. Additional titles are expected.
“These movies are works that have withstood the test of time and sold well in every format and every medium they’ve been released in,” said Pink Visual Director of Business Development Liam Colins. “We anticipate Arrow’s content will be a big hit with PVLocker’s growing customer base, as well.”
The distribution agreement is about more than money, though, Colins added.
“There’s a sense of satisfaction that comes in knowing we’re going to help a new generation of fans discover these historic works of erotica,” he said. “When you talk about classic porn, Deep Throat is the standard by which the rest are judged. Here’s a sexually explicit film, one that was considered quite shocking at the time of its release, that has gone on to gross more over the years than the vast majority of mainstream Hollywood hits. You can’t say that about any other adult movie that I’m aware of.”
According to Arrow Senior Vice President Scott Rabinowitz, the studio is “thrilled” that by embracing technology’s future, Arrow also is preserving its past.
“Fans of Linda Lovelace and Deep Throat, as well as our overall library of classic porno, no longer have to feel tied to a device or platform to view the movies,” he said. “With PVLocker’s technology and sensible pricing, fans can view the Arrow classics anywhere, anytime, on any device.
“Publishing our movies with Pink Visual complements our overall strategy for growth, which includes in-house and select partnership-based endeavors,” Rabinowitz added.
Like the rest of the content on PVLocker, the Arrow videos are sold à la carte at $2.99 per scene — no subscription required. Customers who desire the whole film may purchase bundles of scene for as little as $11.96.
