OLB Taps Hector Camacho for CEO Spot
BOSTON – Three years after leaving Online Buddies Inc. for a Mòntreal-based gay affiliate program, Hector Camacho has returned to the place where he began his adult industry career.
Online Buddies named Camacho chief executive officer this week, completing a circle he began in 2007.
“I am honored to return to Online Buddies as its new leader,” he said. I am not aware of a company that is more enthusiastic and committed to serving gay men in all communities around the globe.”
OLB is the parent company of hookup site Manhunt and the social dating app Jack’d. As CEO, Camacho will oversee corporate vision and drive innovation, a prepared statement noted.
Camacho began his professional life in retail banking after graduating from Tufts University. He joined OLB in 2007 as director of advertising and affiliate marketing.
Five years later, Camacho left OLB for Gamma Entertainment’s Buddy Profits affiliate program, where he served as senior product director. In that position, he helped grow Buddy Profits’ portfolio of gay membership sites from 12 to more than 40, in part by coordinating the acquisition and integration of Pride Studios and Active Duty.
“The opportunity that lies ahead for Online Buddies is enormous, and having been trusted to lead this next chapter is deeply humbling and incredibly exhilarating,” Camacho said. “Over the upcoming months, I will be focused on reevaluating our individual product visions, accelerating product innovation and execution, and increasing member satisfaction.”
Camacho may be contacted at his new email address.
