OhMiBod Celebrates 15 Years In Sex Tech, Wellness with ‘Love Language’ Contest
Stratham, NH — OhMiBod, a pioneer in the manufacture of technology to improve sexual health and wellbeing for people of all genders, bodies, ages, and abilities, is celebrating its 15th anniversary this July.
OhMiBod was first known as the creator of the original music-driven vibrator — also called the iPod vibrator — for its ability to sync to mp3 players and allow users to “feel the music” by experiencing the beat and rhythm of their favorite songs. This dual-sensory experience of music and touch was the first of its kind on the market.
“Creating the original OhMiBod was about more than finding a fresh take on adult pleasure products. We also wanted to create a socially acceptable vibrator that would help break the stigma around the human right of self pleasure. Nothing about our mission has changed,” said founder Suki Dunham.
Over the past 15 years, the woman-owned and operated manufacturer has fought taboos around self pleasure head-on. In so doing, it became the energy behind the teledildonics revolution. The OhMiBod Classic was followed by favorites such as the Club Vibe, the Freestyle, blueMotion and Lovelife product lines. All of thee lines have garnered honors ranging from the prestigious Red Dot Design award to “Best of CES” and lead to collaborations with other sex tech innovators. The company also created OhMiBod Remote, a mobile app that allows users to connect with one another and share intimate experiences from anywhere in the world.
Approachable and elegantly designed with users of all types in mind, each OhMiBod innovation improves on the last. Frequently showcasing these products and functionality at the annual International CES, the world’s technology show, has allowed OhMiBod to bring sex tech into the mainstream. OhMiBod was the first pleasure products manufacturer at CES, making its debut in 2010.
“Our inclusion at CES has played a pivotal role in our becoming not only a global brand but also the engine driving the evolution of technology for sexual health and wellness,” added Dunham. “Fifteen years ago, we could not have foreseen the positive impact our products and philosophy would make on people around the world. It is a humbling reminder not only of how far we have come but also how hard we and others in the industry have worked to deliver sex-positive products that help people explore, discover, and grow their passions, while also improving their physical and mental health.”
In celebration of its 15th year, OhMiBod is launching a contest celebrating “Love Language.” Their search for inspiration invites storytellers to put pen to paper and share a short story or poem on love and intimacy—whether romantic or platonic, with a friend, lover, partner, or oneself. Prizes include a $1,000 Writing Scholarship, OhMiBod products and online exposure.
