Obama Follows Sara Jay on Twitter, She Says It’s No Big Deal
So, get this. Apparently, Barack Obama has been following long-time adult performer Sara Jay’s Twitter since, she says, around 2008. When she found out, Jay told The Daily Beast’s Aurora Snow in a recent interview, “I tried to sweep it under the rug. I like to give people their privacy, and it shouldn’t be national news that he enjoys Sara Jay porn.”
But, despite Jay’s efforts, her 1.1 million Twitter followers keep discovering our former president on her list of followers routinely re-discover the connection. “I’ve been trying to keep it quiet but every now and again someone brings it up. I’m like, ‘Don’t make this into something, it’s not OK.’”
Most recently, fans with lots of extra time on their hands during coronavirus lockdown revived the president-to-porn-star link in early March. And the internet promptly went to town with the news—Jay was the top trend on Twitter briefly, and PageSix.com ran a story called “Twitter loses it over revelation Barack Obama follows porn star Sara Jay.” Twitter users tried to guess how and why Obama may have initially followed Jay, and then to speculate on what his wife Michelle thinks of his. public affiliation with a porn star
But Jay thinks it’s probably more mundane than the wild theories her fans were spouting online. “I was a supporter of Barack Obama when he ran for president and I probably followed him at a time when Twitter was in its infancy,” Jay told The Daily Beast. It was probably during that time of, ‘Oh, you follow me and I’ll follow you back,’ kind of thing. I’m going to assume that’s how it happened.”
Or, she added, “Maybe he and Michelle like Sara Jay porn, I’d like to think that anyway.”
But Jay, ever the savvy media maven, has used the recent attention over her presidential treatment to take a stand about racial injustice in mainstream porn. In her Daily Beast interview, she denounced what she called the “fetishization” of the “interracial” porn category that has recently come under fire in the industry.
The term “interracial,” she believes, shouldn’t be done away with. “I think those terms should be expanded to mean something beyond a Black man and a white woman,” she said. “It should include Black women, white men, and Asian and Latin people.”
“I’ve always felt when you see people of different ethnicities coming together in sex it’s a real symbol of love—to me you’re seeing these people overcome historic and traditional challenges just to have sex, and that’s always been hot to me,” she continued. “I don’t think that has to be fetishized.”
But back to Obama for a minute. The internet has had its chuckle over Obama’s prurient interests, but maybe—has anyone thought of this?—he knows a cool person when he sees one. Perhaps—stick with me here—our former president is a sex-positive appreciator of adult media who’s unashamed of following an outspoken performer and producer who speaks out on important issues like race representation in media, whether it’s adult or not.
That’d be pretty cool.
