NEW YORK CITY, NY — The fire department in New York City has pulled its successful and hunky charity firefighter calendar after one of its firefighter models appeared in a Mantra Films’ Guys Gone Wild video.Fireman Michael Biserta appeared in a volume of the softcore series in 2004 but did not that information to his superiors. The Internet and popularity of the video series meant that, in time, he didn’t have a choice in the matter. Biserta appears on the cover of the current calendar.

In a statement to the media, an FDNY spokesperson says, “the fire department has made the decision to no longer participate in any FDNY-related calendars. It is of our highest priority to maintain the traditions that make up the New York City Fire Department.”

The calendar, published by the FDNY Fire Foundation, raised about $150,000 last year, some of which went to training and equipment.
