Nominations Open for 2010 Blatino Awards
YNOT – Miami-based FlavaMen, a six-year-old quarterly magazine devoted to adult entertainment featuring men of color, has opened nominations for its second annual Blatino Awards. The awards honor ethnic gay erotica, performers, clubs and websites that have had an impact on adult entertainment during the past year.“This year we’ve expanded the award show, adding more categories, hosting at a larger venue and bringing in another celebrity host,” said Warren Bullock, operations manager for gay adult studio Flava Works, which publishes the magazine. “Last year was our first show, so we learned a lot, and this year we plan to upgrade and make it even bigger and better.”
New categories this year include Best Personals Website, Best Non-Porn Blog and Best Exotic Dancer. A new subdivision, Ballroom Scene, will honor the Best Sex Siren and Best Face.
Nominations will remain open through May 31 at BlatinoAwards.com. Public voting on the finalists is expected to begin June 15 and run through Aug. 15. The public also is invited to help select a celebrity host to present the awards. Nominees are listed on the website.
The Blatino Awards ceremony is scheduled to take place Sept. 4 during Atlanta Gay Black Pride.
