No Wine Before Its Time — and Its Time is Now
LOS ANGELES – A sip of the penthouse lifestyle is now available in Southern California liquor stores, thanks to the arrival of Penthouse-branded wines and spirits.
Launched in January, wine varieties include sparkling shiraz, sparkling chardonnay, merlot, sauvignon blanc and pinot noir. Spirits include Libido Libations, a pair of cherry-flavored vodkas Penthouse marketing materials claim are gender-specific.
Morandell Imports is handling wholesale sales. The distributor specializes in artisanal and craft beverages, with an emphasis on imported products from Europe and South Africa.
“Morandell Imports has an appreciation for quality beverages, which makes them an ideal representative for the Penthouse wines and spirits,” said Amanda Byrd, director of global licensing for Penthouse. “Our products are superior in flavor and packaging, and we know Morandell Imports will convey this to their customers.”
According to Byrd, Penthouse Spirits are hand-crafted and bottled in one of the oldest distilleries in Holland. In addition to the Libido Libations, the collection includes Dutch vodka, a Canadian whisky, and a first-of-its kind Whiskey Tequila Fusion.
Penthouse Wines owe their personalities to grapes from award winning vineyards in California and Australia.
As part of the launch campaign in Southern California, Penthouse Pets are available for in-store appearances when retailers purchase a specific dollar volume of the Penthouse beverage lines. Remedy Liquor Store in Glendale, Calif., was the first to meet the requirement.
