Next Door’s Dec. 1 Sales to Benefit HIV/AIDS Charity
YNOT – Since 1988, Dec. 1 has marked more than the “official” beginning of the year-end holiday season. On that day, people of all sexual orientations around the world unite in the fight against HIV, support people living with the disease and commemorate those who have died as part of World AIDS Day.
To show its solidarity with the worldwide effort, Montreal-based gay adult studio Next Door Entertainment will donate a percentage of its Dec. 1 revenues to Until There’s a Cure, a charitable organization leading the search for a cure. With the inclusion of a “Donate Now” link on each Next Door website, the company also hopes to encourage surfers to visit the organization and donate directly.
Based and founded in Redwood City, Calif., Until There’s A Cure works to raise awareness and funds to combat the HIV/AIDS pandemic. Since 1993, the organization’s dream has been to prevent the infection of even one more person.
“We are proud supporters of the dedication and hard work of our friends at Until There’s A Cure,” said Next Door President Stephan Sirard. “Their work in raising awareness about the importance of getting tested and knowing your status is something we fully support.”
Next Door employees have been busy raising donations by selling wrist bands, baked goods and holding a company raffle. The company has pledged to match all employee donations made to the “Until There’s A Cure” charity.
In addition to fundraising, the company produced a public service announcement starring its exclusive performers. Posted to NextDoorStudios.com and available to webmasters through the Next Door Buddy Profits affiliate program, the video features HIV/AIDS information and prevention advice from Marcus Mojo, Samuel O’Toole, Brandon Lewis, Rod Daily, Austin Wilde, Brody Wilder, James Jamesson, James Huntsman, Johnny Torque, Tylor Torro and Anthony Romero. As part of their message, the models encourage fans to be tested regularly and always know their status.
“Every level of our organization is dedicated to participating in raising funds to support the work of Until There’s A Cure,” Sirard said. “From our models to our employees, combined with our strong presence in the GLBT community, we will continue to do as much as we can to support the fight against HIV/AIDS.”
