New York Fetish Gala to Bring Out Best Dressed Rubber Dolls
YNOT – America’s slipperiest pageant, Miss Rubber World, offers $12,000 in prizes during its 2012 outing. In addition, the pageant will adorn the bodies of contestants with more than $5,000 worth of rubber fashions from some of the world’s top designers: Baroness, Dawnamatrix, Lovely Latex and Zuss among them.
The Miss Rubber World pageant annually caps the three-day New York Rubber Ball, where rubber lovers slide in from across the country for fashion shows, a tour of the Big Apple’s shiny fetish shops and New York’s slipperiest parties. Set to take place March 23-25, the festivities are expected to begin at Affina Manhattan on 7th Ave.
The pageant is open to all female rubberists 21 and older, regardless of size, orientation or experience. Miss Rubber World is trans-inclusive.
Contestants must identify as female in their lives and/or work. They must outfit themselves in at least two different costumes composed of at least 50-percent rubber or latex, with PVC, neoprene, Spandex or vinyl composing the remainder. Outfits containing any leather will be disqualified. Competition consists of an interview segment and a performance segment. Official rules and an entry form are available here (PDF). Entries are due no later than Jan. 10.
The list of sponsors is still growing, but so far includes more than two dozen rubber designers from around the world. Adult industry sponsors such as Demask, Syren and Pjur Erotic have squeezed in for the 2012 event. FetishMovies.com returns to sponsor for the second consecutive year.
