New York Fashion Week Features Pole Dancing Lingerie Models
NEW YORK, NY — It may not be an Olympic sport yet, but it’s a popular form of exercise, erotic entertainment – and now lingerie modeling. “It” is pole dancing. Reuters reports that lingerie designer Heather Thomson has noticed that dancers who know how to shimmy up, down, and around a metal pole are pretty cool. They also tend to wear – however briefly — sexy, barely there garments, including lingerie.
Being fully capable of putting two good together two good things that go together well, Thomson decided to hire an assortment of the city’s finest to show off her newest Yummie Tummy undergarments during the recent New York Fashion Week.
Eight specialty dancers, selected after a grueling pole dance competition, turned the perfectly respectable West End Café into a perfectly respectable gentleman’s club. Performing four at a time, the dancers showed onlookers underwear from angles rarely viewed outside of an actual dance establishment.
According to Reuters, a multi-ethnic cast of dancers with busts ranging from AA to beyond C worked their tented Bryant Park catwalk brass poles in long-line tank tops and camisoles available at shops like Henri Bendel and Bloomingdale’s.
“Every woman of every size deserves sexy lingerie that can be worn underneath her clothes or that’s meant to be seen,” Thomson opined during her Shapewear fashion show.
Thomson’s new line promises to flatten the tummy thanks to microfiber garments in hip styles and colors. Her previous work includes the Jennifer Lopez Sweetface brand and P. Diddy’s Sean John line.
