New Social App Lets Mobile Users Share Their Kink
UNDISCLOSED – A relatively new mobile app hopes to do for the kinky what Grindr has done for the gay hookup market and Tinder has done for hetero “casual daters.”
Whiplr allows devotees of so-called alternative lifestyles to text chat, send photos, engage in video chat and otherwise interact with others who share their kink.
According to developer Matech Ltd., “Surely we’d all agree that we live in a global society with a wide range of interests, always on the go and always ready to log-on to the next best idea for communicating. And by whatever means we presently use to find others, we need our access ‘in hand,’ up-to-date and vetted through heavy population use. The Whiplr app enjoys an ever-increasing daily population.
“The guesswork is taken out of finding those who share your interests, while unparalleled fun can be put into the process of vetting via a network made for the purpose of connecting the like-minded. It’s easy, fun and inexpensive to use the Whiplr app and its network, made as it is for mobile use especially.”
The app is free and available both in the iTunes store (published March 23) and on Google Play (published April 2). Matech plans to launch an affiliate program Dec. 4.
It strikes us as odd that Matech encourages users of its app to disclose their physical locations but has gone to great lengths to obscure its own. Not that there’s anything necessarily wrong with hiding out, but users should be aware that providing intimate details through an interface controlled by an anonymous, hidden puppet master may give rise to unfortunate consequences.
