New Site: ‘Watching VR Videos is Easy’
NEW PORT RICHEY, Fla. – The owners of a new website claim they’ve broken through barriers that previously stood between porn fans and studios producing virtual-reality content.
According to a statement distributed Monday, “ViRP.io allows users to watch adult virtual-reality videos with head tracking, in 3D, without downloading the video or the need to find a special video player.”
Owner VR Innovation LLC, incorporated in September, also claims ViRP is the only website that allows viewers to watch 180-degree, stereoscopic 3D VR video in web browsers on desktop computers, tablets and mobile phones.
“Until now, viewing VR videos has been an arduous process for the consumer, requiring users to download videos to their devices — which have limited storage space — and then find compatible software to play the video they downloaded,” Monday’s press release noted. “Now users can simply watch VR videos directly in the browser without downloading the video or finding a special player for it.”
While that may be true for members of the website, it’s worth noting that every demo on ViRP.io must be downloaded.
VRI, a company specializing in web-based virtual-reality software, has designed the site to be used by owners of Oculus Rift, Samsung Gear VR and Google Cardboard headsets. Currently, ViRP includes more than two dozen videos produced by studios including Naughty America, Badoink and Marc Dorcel.
