Native Ads Finally Make Their Way to Adult
LONDON – After an extended, extensive beta test, advertising network Reporo has launched native ads for the adult industry.
Native ads are image tiles set within a widget that is integrated into the content of a website. Each tile contains associated anchor text to communicate with website visitors. The format has been used on mainstream websites for years, but Reporo believes it is the first to develop a system that will overcome the unique challenges faced by the adult industry.
“We have all seen native ads before even if we dont know it — in the mainstream,” said Reporo’s Tim S. “On sites such as CNN, these ad spots are designed to blend seamlessly into the page in an unobtrusive manner and promote content to users in a way that helps them chose what they want to view next.”
According to Tim, native ads offer a number of benefits:
Increase leads, conversions and revenues using an engaging, high-click-through-rate format.
Generate better conversion rates using 100-percent contextually relevant ads.
Engage with users who may not click traditional banners.
Tim said Reporo came up with the native ads concept after surveying the publishers in its network about things that would be helpful in generating sales. Unanimously, publishers reported their most pressing need is additional ad position options that wouldn’t affect SEO or user experience.
“One of the huge benefits of native ads is that they are not, at this stage, considered advertisements, but content,” he said. “Therefore, they are not subject to ad-blockers’ policy. So, any publisher who has ads blocked can run native ads safe in the knowledge they’ll be seen and will keep up ad revenue streams. On top of this, given the nature of the ad itself, [native ads] are about as unobtrusive as they get.”
So far, the company has made publisher agreements with some of the largest adult sites on the web, including 4shared (TBC), YouJizz (TBC), Sex.com, KeezMovies, Spankwire and Spankbang.
