Murder Earns Portland Pornographer 20 Years
PORTLAND, OR — An internet pornographer who pleaded guilty to first-degree manslaughter in the strangulation death of his 18-year-old live-in girlfriend was sentenced to 20 years in prison Friday.According to court documents and family statements, 38-year-old Paul Eugene Frizzelle lured Emily Egan with promises of a modeling career, then gave the young woman illegal narcotics and began publishing photos and videos of her on his websites, SlitParade.com and PettyGroveProductions.com. Egan’s mother, Terry Egan, said the girl was on bipolar medication when she moved in with Frizzelle in May 2007 shortly after turning 18, but at Frizzelle’s suggestion she began substituting methamphetamine and marijuana for the prescription drugs.
Emily Egan’s body was discovered inside Frizzelle’s apartment August 28th, 2007, after out-of-town friends and relatives notified authorities that Frizzelle had emailed them to say he had “done something horrendous.” Frizzelle reportedly tried to slit his wrists before police arrived, but the suicide attempt was unsuccessful.
Terry Egan said she was hours away from picking up her daughter from Frizzelle’s apartment when she was notified the girl had been killed.
“She was done; she was coming home,” Terry Egan told KOMO Channel 4 News two days after her daughter died.
At Frizzelle’s sentencing hearing on Friday, Terry Egan told the man, “She knew I was afraid; I hated you and I wanted you off the face of this earth.”
Frizzelle stopped short of an apology, instead telling the court and Emily Egan’s parents, “There’s nothing I can do or say that would bring her back.”
