More Than Two Dozen New Apple Security Patches Available
CUPERTINO, CA — Apparently even the legendary Apple OS X operating system has its bugs and hostile intruders. In an effort to protect users of eMacs, iBooks, Powerbook G3 and G4s, as well as Power Mac G4s, Apple has released 25 software update plugs for an equal number of security soft spots.Addressed are a number of discrete security issues, including a flaw in AirPort wireless devices integrated into some Apple computers. According to representatives for Apple, the company’s AirPort Extreme wireless cards are not at risk.
This is the second time this month that Apple has released software update fixes to address wireless router vulnerabilities found in the AirPort Extreme Base Station.
The free patches are available from the Mac built-in Software Update feature (www.apple.com/macosx/upgrade/softwareupdates.html) or via the Apple site (www.apple.com/support/downloads).
