CHATSWORTH, Calif. – The 2014 AVN Awards judges must wade through more than 2,000 nominations in 135 categories before they can name the next winners of the storied “Oscars of adult entertainment.”

AVN Media Network released the list of nominees on Monday. The 31st annual AVN Awards Show will take place Jan. 18 at The Join inside the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. Chanel Preston and Samantha Saint will host the gala affair, newcomers Evi Fox and Emily Austin will serve as the show’s trophy girls.

According to Adult Video News Senior Editor Peter Warren, the nominating committee spent roughly six weeks sifting through material from the past year in order to compose the 2014 list. The majority of nominations occurred in the Video division, which weighs in with 109 categories. The Web & Technology division includes 11 categories, followed by 10 categories in the Pleasure Products division and five categories in the Retail & Distribution division.

“My heartiest congratulations go out to all of this year’s nominees, and I look forward to seeing everyone on the big night next month to celebrate with you in person,” Warren said. “Our committee really worked to the bone to assemble these nominations, and it’s as much an honor for us to bestow them as I hope it is for all those who’ve received one.”
