Monitors at Scottish Parliament Get Unexpectedly Spicy
SCOTLAND — Except for those times when emotions surge during parliamentary meetings and committees, the content appearing on the Scottish Parliament’s closed TV system is pretty tame. But recently, things got a little spicy.Spice Extreme to be exact.
An unexpected technical glitch in the system temporarily caused the usually staid programming to being broadcasting commercials for adult channels including Spice Extreme and Playboy TV.
A total of 320 television monitors carried approximately 10 minutes of such programming throughout the Holyrood complex, giving viewers the opportunity to scroll through a menu of channel options, although not actually access the selections.
According to an unnamed Holyrood spokeswoman, Telewest, the TV feed supplier, has been asked to remove the channels, which were added by mistake.
It appears that the channels were added by error when the supplier refreshed the boxes of Edinburgh customers one weekend. Once the teasers for the adult channels were removed, the process of uploading the correct channels began.
The unnamed Holywood spokeswoman assures that “There is no way anybody could watch porn in parliament. It just isn’t happening. There is absolutely no way anyone could watch anything inappropriate.”
