Mind Over Matter – The Thought Process in Adult Site Design
“I have seen many sites come and go. Only the strong will survive. If you are getting a small number of hits a day it is something YOU are doing wrong.”“I have seen many sites come and go. In this article we will discuss the need for a thought process in a winning site. In an article about being a contract worker Busa stated that the Pimp/Player attitude is running rampant in the industry. I believe that statement is true. You are not a pimp. You are not a player. A pimp (or at least the only true pimp) was / is a person like Iceberg Slim. A player is someone who has a stock portfolio worth a cool million. If you’re a pimp/player why are you reading this? You should know it ALL already… If you don’t know it all and you want to get some insight into the design thought process this may help you out.
The adult industry is a tough place and it is only going to get tougher from what I can tell. There are so many would be webmasters coming out of the wood work that soon I think it could flood the market (if it already hasn’t). As with anything, I have learned that business is very cutthroat, and you better have a helmet. But keep this in mind. Don’t bite the hand of the person that feeds you, because tomorrow it may be the same persons ass that you are kissing. You need to think fast and always try to stay one step ahead.
I have seen many sites come and go. Only the strong will survive. If you are getting only a small number of hits to your site a day it is something YOU are doing wrong. It is not the fault of the gallery post that you have tried posting to 5 times within the last week and still do not see your link. You need to change up and fix the problem. In some cases it is even better to start all over. If you have come to the conclusion that you should start over than you should keep reading.
Much planning should go into the creation of a (successful) site. The following ideas should be kept in mind when getting ready to put up your first, second, or tenth site:
Budget
How much startup cash do you have to put into your venture, How much will be needed. What type of hosting plan are you going to need and what will your content cost? Do you have the cash to cover bandwidth overage? This all needs to be figured out so you don’t end up ass out with a fat dent in your credit card.
