MiKandi Offers In-App Billing Support for Android
YNOT – Adult mobile application developers who offer Android apps in the MiKandi app market now can provide in-app billing. Powered by MiKandi Gold, the billing utility offers users an easy way to pay for premium content and provides content owners with another revenue stream, according to the company.
“In-app billing has been long anticipated by both the Android developer community and end-users,” a MiKandi spokesperson said. “Customers are voting with their dollars on other mobile platforms, indicating that in-app billing is crucial to an app developer’s quiver of revenue tools. This latest product launch allows developers and adult content producers to sell additional content within applications, such as video clips or game levels, in affordable chunks that appeal to customers.”
PinkTV was among the first to employ the MiKandi billing API in its new video-on-demand app.

According to Juniper Research forecasts, revenues from in-app/in-game purchases are poised to overtake traditional pay-per-download revenues as the primary source of monetization by 2013.
