NEW YORK CITY, NY —The only copy of the most notorious film of Marilyn Monroe’s career sold for $1.5 million recently – and her adoring fans will never see it. Sold by memorabilia collector Keya Morgan to a New York businessman and admirer of Monroe’s, the new owner has vowed to keep the 15-minute fellatio frolic from the eyes of the public in order to protect what little remains of the deceased sex symbol’s privacy.
Shot in black-and-white without benefit of sound, the film has been in the possession of the son of a dead FBI informant. In spite of having long been kept under wraps, it has also long been a source of speculation.
Given that the face of the man in the short has never been seen, some have opined that it might be U.S President John F. Kennedy, whom she is rumored to have taken as a lover at one time. The gossip concerning the possible identify of the pornographic mystery man that Morgan told Reuters FBI director J. Edgar Hoover had done his best to convince others it was Kennedy, in hopes of discrediting his rival.
Joe DiMaggio, one-time husband of Monroe, once offered $25,000 to the unnamed informant, who “would not part with it,” according to FBI files available on the agency’s website.
Morgan, a renowned collector of both Monroe and DiMaggio estate memorabilia, was friends with the glamour star’s other two husbands, Jim Dougherty and Arthur Miller. While working on a documentary about the tragic model performer, a former FBI agent told him about the blue mini movie.
“I thought the FBI agent was embellishing it for my documentary,” Morgan confided to Reuters. “I never believed it once, until I pulled up the FBI document.”
Although a copy of the film remains filed amidst other classified FBI documents, the dead informant’s son possessed the original.
“The FBI agent that I interviewed said J. Edgar Hoover was completely obsessed,” Morgan explained. “A team of nine individuals were analyzing the tape inside a lab. J Edgar Hoover brought in a few prostitutes who allegedly had been with President Kennedy, and they tried to… see if it was really President Kennedy.”
