Marcela Alonso Drops Journey through Pride Month Series on Get Schooled
Content creator, social media influencer, podcast host, comedienne, and SAAG card-carrying mainstream actress Marcela Alonso is celebrating Pride Month for the second year in a row. She’ll be rolling out episodes on Get Schooled all month, starting with the first one with Natassia Dreams, which was released yesterday.
Known for educating listeners in adult entertainment with her podcast Get Schooled, Marcela Alonso is giving the LGBTQ+ community a platform to speak and be heard with her Journey through Pride Month series. The first episode, “Reflecting on Natassia Dreams: Part 1 – A Journey through Pride Month,” is available now. Natassia was a guest last year and the first one she’s brought back for a second episode. Natassia talks to Marcela about her journey with her facial feminization surgery and appearing in the mainstream documentary “Kokomo City.”
The series also includes four more notable LGBTQ+ voices; episodes drop every Sunday. On June 9th, Cuban-born trans performer Eva Maxim shares her transition story and how she dealt with her family. Sexually fluid male talent Colby Jansen’s episode debuts on June 16th. He shares how he got into the industry, how things were different back then, and how his father supported him and his career choices. Host of Hustlers2Housewives and industry veteran Lee Ann Steel’s episode will be released on June 23rd, and she talks about her days as a feature dancer with her girlfriend and being attracted to feminine men before coming out. The last episode on June 30th spotlights multi-award-winning trans star Brittney Kade; she and Marcela chat about many things, including the stripper life.
“Last year, I created a Pride Month series for Get Schooled with Marcela Alonso, which was very meaningful to me. I needed to give the LGBTQ+ community a platform to speak and be heard. Too often, there are many voices from outside the community speaking on their behalf; people must listen actively, instead of dominating the conversation, regarding Black trans women and other queer folks. Considering the rampant misinformation being spread, it’s of utmost importance that we support our sisters, cousins, brothers, and sisters within the LGBTQ+ community,” says Marcela Alonso.
