ManyVids Teams up with Sex Workers for #MVFreeTheBody Campaign
NEW YORK – ManyVids announced today a new campaign called #MVFreeTheBody, which the company said is designed to “to challenge the stereotypes, body image, age, sexual identification and orientation perpetuated within the adult industry.”
“#MVFreeTheBody is a body positive underwear campaign that denounces outdated ideals propagated by pornography, by depicting six real sex workers in the campaign,” ManyVids said in a statement announcing the launch of the campaign. The underwear used in the campaign was designed by cam girl turned ManyVids CEO, Bella French.
“In 2019, the adult industry landscape is widely different to what it was in 2014 when we launched ManyVids,” French said. “However, our commitment to redefining beauty, promote sex-positivity, and raise awareness on gender equality in the adult industry hasn’t changed. The women photographed in our campaign celebrate inclusion and diversity; each has her own unique, brave story and is a true inspiration for women everywhere. These are the true faces and bodies of our erotic fantasies.”
In its release announcement, ManyVids said that since the company launched in 2014, its mission has been “to promote sex positivity and the fair treatment of sex workers.”
“Today, we are recommitting to sex workers with the #MVFreeTheBody campaign and vow to remain the most inclusive and sex-positive online adult community where sex workers are celebrated for their unique diversity,” the company added.
French said ManyVids wants to “show the world the real beauties that millions of our members truly desire and not the unidimensional beauty standard that has permeated every facet of our media, including pornography, the ultimate platform for the definition of what is appealing.”
“ManyVids exists as validation that women of every shape, age, sexual identification and size are beautiful,” French added. “Our platform serves to provide them with a means to shine proudly and embrace who they are. Who they really are without any shame and the sex workers featured in this campaign are a testament to that fact.”
The women featured in the #MVFreeTheBody campaign include Sally D’Angelo, who ManyVids described as “a sexagenarian who hails from the hills of Tennessee and learned early in life how to win people over with what she calls her Dolly Parton personality;” Gwen Adora, a “fiery Canadian plus-size sex blogger and model.” Sure Cakes, a sunny webcam model;” Goddess Haven, a “luxury financial dominatrix and fetish artist;” TsBlondieNYC, a “former phone sex operator and transgender webcam model;” and Kay Ottie, a “tattooed model from Florida whose athletic interests include scuba diving, playing soccer and practicing Jiu Jitsu.”
To help kick off the campaign, ManyVids has released a #MVFreeTheBody video on Vimeo, in which each of the featured women proudly declares love for her body and encourages others to do the same. The lingerie featured in the campaign can be purchased in the MV Store.
