Malicious Porn Mag Prank Lands Woman in Jail
PIQUA, OH — What blood-pumping human being hasn’t fantasized about showing some richly deserving so-and-so who’s boss by signing them up for a batch of porn mags they don’t want? After all, isn’t sex the gift that keeps on giving? Alas for one vengeful neighbor, that spirit of pointed generosity has earned a 60 day jail sentence. Fortunately for 47-year-old Julie Rank-Earley, her neighbors aren’t nearly as mean-spirited. Although she has served half of her sentence, her suddenly unwanted magazine rich neighbors have asked the court to suspend the rest of her time behind bars.
In the decision-making seat is Judge Robert Lindeman, who the Dayton Daily News says will decide whether Rank-Earley’s 30 days in the chill tank have been enough to teach her a lesson in civic etiquette.
Rank-Early pled no-contest to felony record tampering in February, admitting that she had ordered subscriptions to Playboy, Penthouse and Hustler for Carla Weigandt.
The reason?
Previous interactions between the two ladies had resulted in a disorderly conduct charge against Rank-Earley, who apparently took it personally.
Although the neighbors may not be able to agree on much else, Weigandt and Rank-Earley’s attorneys see eye-to-eye on one important topic: she should be released early so she can see a doctor and go back to work.
Rank-Earley has been in jail since March 16th, something her husband says he can’t believe has happened. Weigandt filed a complaint with the police after she was billed hundreds of dollars for the magazines.
