YNOT – Nearly 86 percent of men would be happy to date a porn star, and more than 61 percent would consider marrying one, according to a new poll conducted by adult entertainment industry insiders.

Granted, the results may be a bit skewed since the survey ran on an adult movie review website, but the figures are interesting nonetheless.

The sixth in an ongoing series of polls sponsored by adult studio Vivid Entertainment and movie-review website XCritic.com also discovered 86.7 percent of respondents consider adult entertainment to be “a positive part of our culture.”

In addition, respondents indicated porn affects their bedroom behaviors: 64.3 percent of poll-takers said they enjoyed trying positions or moves they saw in a film. Another 60.4 percent said they have incorporated sex toys into their activities.

Amidst a rapid rise in availability of free porn on so-called tube sites, the Vivid Entertainment-XCritic Sex Tracker Poll discovered 33.5 percent of respondents “just use [free porn sites] to get off.” Twenty-nine percent indicated they prefer to watch their favorite performers on DVD instead of in any other format.

The anonymous survey, administered by a third-party polling company, ran on XCritic in November. More than 500 users responded; 58 percent of respondents classified themselves as “moderate watchers” of adult entertainment.
