For Single Parent Lucy Banks, OnlyFans is the Perfect Job
Anyone who has raised children on their own knows just how difficult it is to balance family life and career. But Australian single mother Lucy Banks has solved this problem by becoming a full-time OnlyFans creator. Lucy has parleyed her business brains and stunning good looks into a lucrative full-time job – one that dovetails nicely with her priority of putting her kids first.
“I’ve been in the industry for almost three years now and I love it,” Lucy says.
Three years ago, Lucy was a newly divorced single mother with two kids and a job in corporate banking. It was tough to make ends meet – and even tougher to give her kids the attention she wanted to give them while living the corporate life.
An Accidental Career Shift That Pays
It was by sheer chance that Lucy learned about the profit potential of being an Only Fans model.
“I had a girlfriend that was doing it, and I became curious one day and messaged her,” she recalls. “Once she told me how much money she was making, I signed up immediately. I initially only intended to do it for a month or two to clear some bills. Almost three years later, I now do it full time and it ended up being the best choice I ever made.”
Today, Lucy organizes her online time on OnlyFans around her kids’ schedules. When they don’t need her, that is when she is either online or sleeping.
“Being an OnlyFans creator allows me to design my lifestyle around my children,” explains Lucy. “I can be there for every school event, sporting event, and medical appointment. I’m the one who drops them off and picks them up from school every day. It gives me full flexibility, while also making enough of an income to set up a future for us.
“Motherhood comes first, and then work life comes second,” she adds. “Basically, if I’m not in ‘mum mode’, then I’m in work mode. I generally work the entire time they’re at school, and then when they’re in bed as well. It’s full on, I’m always doing something! But it works for me.”
As for the money she makes on OnlyFans, compared to her former banking job?
“I’m an intelligent person: I had a great career in banking before I did OnlyFans,” Lucy replies. “But even after working my way up in the finance world, I STILL earn about 3-4 times the amount now from being a creator, plus the obvious lifestyle benefits.”
Success Has Its Price
One would think that society would applaud Lucy for doing what it takes to best provide for her children. But this is the real world, where sex industry work remains stigmatized even if it is consensual, legal, and beneficial for all.
Lucy knows what it is to take heat for her OnlyFans career choice. But she is willing to endure the abuse in order to put her kids first.
“I’ve grown a very thick skin over the years I’m not doing anything wrong, and neither is any other creator,” she says. “I feel like anyone who judges or stigmatizes my career is either jealous or they don’t understand it. My priority in life is to be happy and have happy kids. If all that costs me is the approval of some people, then I think I’ve got a pretty good deal.”
As for explaining her career choices when her kids inevitably get old enough to ask?
“I raise my kids to be very accepting,” Lucy replies. “It isn’t going to be a conversation around shame, it will be a conversation around empowerment. It’s important for them to know that this was a decision that Mum made because she wanted to.”
This is why Lucy advises others to think hard before entering the adult industry – and to be ready to accept the downsides of the job as the price for its benefits.
“The stigma is real, and it isn’t a quick path to success,” she says. “You will face a lot of discrimination, and judgement. Just like any other business, it’s a hard gig to become successful. However, if you can cop the criticism, and you’re a hard worker, the perks are beyond your wildest dreams.”
“My only regret is not doing this sooner,” Lucy concludes. “I’m so grateful for the way OnlyFans has transformed my life. My children and I are all reaping the benefits. I can literally work from anywhere. I’m always early to school pick up, and I can sit in my car and work from my phone. I could pack my kids up and go to Fiji for a week and work from there if I wanted to. I literally could not have a more flexible lifestyle.”
