SAN FRANCISCO – Live streaming of adult cam shows for Oculus Rift will see its public debut on Tuesday, July 28.

After bringing the world’s first holographic virtual-reality porn to market, VRTube will break new ground again beginning at 7 p.m. PST when it allows fans to interact with adult entertainers in a 3D virtual environment.

“We’ve been working for several weeks on getting a live streaming cam program for the Oculus Rift,” said Ela Darling, creative director and co-owner of VRTube. “The future of VR porn is live cam. Nothing offers the same sense of immediacy and intimacy as being able to communicate with another human in real time. Live cam is one of the most immersive, engaging experiences I’ve ever had in virtual reality.”

Launched in 2014, VRTube since has made international headlines by developing products and services that mix virtual reality and adult entertainment — two sectors many doubted would ever meet, despite widespread curiosity about what such a pairing could produce. After testing several approaches to VR image capture, the team was the first to sell holographic pornography for virtual-reality headsets, including Oculus Rift.

The team then moved on to create a dating simulation program, offering users the chance to experience a VR date with Darling, choosing how to interact with her along the way.

“Currently, the software is designed to work on the Oculus Rift,” VRTube Chief Executive Officer James Ashfield said. “We hope to expand to other VR platforms in the near future.”
