Live Cam Awards 2020: An Iconic Gala Celebrates the Webcam Industry
For its sixth edition, the Live Cam Awards 2020 gathered over 330 attendees in the epic Estoril Casino on Lisbon seashore in Portugal. Even with a few cancellations due to the current Coronavirus spreading situation, the “LCA” has broken its record of attendees.
The Live Cam Awards was the first awards show of its kind to exclusively celebrate the performers and companies who actively contribute to the steady growth of the international cam space.
Iconic model Alexandra Georgia launched the Live Cam Awards in 2015. Back then, it was the first and only awards show to exclusively honor the performers and companies who serve the now highly-competitive webcam business. Georgia considers the awards show important to improve the image of the live cam industry and give a public positive image about the business — and the show continues to evolve accordingly.
“I came with the idea of the Live Cam Awards a long time ago but I only put myself into it in 2015. It was clearly a challenge because it means a lot for me so I wanted to organize something relevant and beautiful to honor the individuals and companies who work so hard to build and improve the global webcam market,” Georgia said. “I am proud of our industry and I care a lot about my peers, the event is a way to claim what we deserve as an honest and ethical business.”
Among this year’s winners, LittleRedBunny took home the Live Cam Celebrity of the Year, Shirley Lara received the Live Cam Businesswoman of the Year and Greg Clayman was named the Live Cam Businessman of the Year. Twero won the Best Emerging Live Cam Site, LCM Studio was named the Best Emerging Live Cam Studio and Chaturbate won the Best Overall Live Cam Site award. This year, the award for Best Live Cam Studio went to Studio20, HottyTeen69 was named Social Media Star and Goddess Shezel won the Best Fetish Live Cam Model — for the second year in a row!
This year, the show was hosted by the award-winning webcam performers/power couple Emma and Eddie Lovett. The very natural duo took over the stage and entertained the audience with an amazing and dynamic energy while a delicious meal made of lobster and duck was served to the guests.
“The Live Cam Awards was the very first awards show I attended that was exclusively dedicated to the live cam industry. Not only is it one of the most glamorous events, but it also shines the light on the hard-working people that stand out for their determination and dedication,” said LittleRedBunny. “I really appreciate and admire Alexandra for her initiative. The realization of her vision has given us all a gala that has evolved into a chance to gather together and celebrate like a close family. I always love attending the LCA, and I always look forward to the next one!”
The LCA was born as a response to the need for improving strategical partnerships and relationships between individuals and live cam companies, as well as a need for recognition of those outstanding individuals and companies in the cam industry.
“Flirt4Free has supported the Live Cam Awards from the beginning as we know how hard our models and studios work and look forward to being able to acknowledge their achievements,” said Jamie Rodriguez, Director of Product at Flirt4Free. “Alexandra’s show — from the lighting to the menu — is always well thought out and an elegant representation of the industry.”
The webcam industry has also proved to be a great ally to experience new technologies. This is how Georgia picked up her theme for the 2020 event: “Step into the Future.”
“Year after year, Alexandra manages to bring grandeur to this event. We look forward to seeing who is nominated and especially who wins. For me, it is an extremely important gala because it is organized by a webcam model and shows us what you can get in your life if you are involved,” explained Maria Boroghina, COO of Best Studios. “The Live Cam Awards is an event where you feel at home, where we enjoy so much our success, our friends but also the competition, where we watch the evolution of the industry. I look forward to next year’s edition especially to see what the theme is chosen.”
“I had a great time at the Live Cam Awards. I have been to the previous edition in 2019, which was great. All I can say is that the one hosted this year was amazing. It is the kind of event that brings together the most interesting people in the industry, awards the best and offers a pleasant and exciting show, all together,” said BrutusK, independent cam model veteran.
The 2020 LCA was presented by Kiiroo and sponsored by Chaturbate, LiveJasmin, BongaCams, StripChat, Imlive, Models4Models, Best Studios, Flirt4Free, Studio20, Bucharest Summit, Gloria Agency, Angels Studio, Feet4Cash, ImLive, Glam Chat Studio, Live Cams Mansion and XloveCam.
More than a tradition, the Live Cam Awards has definitely established itself as an iconic gathering and all the attendees expressed their impatient will to meet again next year to celebrate the success of their exciting industry.
