Lightspeed Media in Contract Renewal Dispute with Top Model
PHOENIX, AZ – Lightspeed Media appears to be engaged in a semi-public contract renewal battle with one of its most productive and exclusive internet models. Popular adult internet personality Tawnee Stone apparently grew dissatisfied with a non-compete offer she received from Lightspeed Media this month and threatened to sell her modeling services to the highest bidder.Steve Lightspeed, owner of Lightspeed Media, posted what he described as Stone’s demand letter on a popular adult industry chat board. In the letter, Stone warns that she would team up with her boyfriend Jeff to find other opportunities if she couldn’t reach a new agreement with Lightspeed Media.
“This is an email that I intend to send to a list of over 200 websites Jeff and I have compiled,” warned the letter in the post. “We are both using are [sic] free time to search for more possible employers out there to contact, and if we don’t get response from this batch than [sic] I will continue to contact people.”
“I realize you are not going to be happy about this and just wanted to give you one final chance to make me a more reasonable offer than the $2000 a month you have offered me to be exclusive to LightSpeed Media,” continued the letter. “You called me in for that second meeting so that we could talk about what I was looking for, and then all you did was continue to tell me $2000 is all you can afford to pay me. If that is the case than [sic] I will accept that. I appreciate all that you have paid me, but feel that I was mislead about a severance package I am now not getting. I did not plan to be cut off with no notice and I need to finish school. I would also like to walk away from this whole journey with something other than just enough to pay my mortgage for the next year. My images have been online and making you money for 3+ years, and will continue to make you money for years to come. This is why I can’t in good conscience accept such a low figure.”
According to Lightspeed, the $2000 that Stone referred to in the letter was simply a non-compete offer that would require no additional work on her part to collect.
“Tawnee was paid over $130k last year,” wrote Lightspeed. “We have stockpiled an enormous amount of content of her, and she refuses to do anything more than simple nudity. I offered her $24k over the next 12 month for doing nothing. The $2000/month was a severance deal. I didn’t want her to lose her new house.”
A representative from FTVCash.com reported that the company had been contacted by Stone.
“Tawnee did contact us FTVCash and we turned her down,” claimed the representative. “Immediately after that I notified Steve of this issue. I hope all gets worked out.”
Stone was not available for comment.
Earlier today Lightspeed told YNOT that negotiations were still ongoing.
