Leigh Raven, Evil Angel ‘Prove Something’ with New VOD Release
LOS ANGELES, CA — So far during 2018, performer Leigh Raven and studio Evil Angel have been players in two separate, troubling and scrutiny-inducing media storms.
In March, as reported by Jezebel, Raven (along with Riley Nixon) released a more than hour-long YouTube video detailing two different incidents of alleged abuse on sets. “Their accusations include misleading booking practices, excessive face-slapping and choking, and boundary violations,” Jezebel reported.
In August, as reported by the New York Post, cam model Jenny Blighe alleged abuse on an Evil Angel set. According to the report, the alleged abuse took place in February and included pressure to perform sex acts outside Blighe’s comfort zone, choking and groping.
To date, no charges have emerged from either of these instances/allegations. Interestingly, if only due to their presence in the mainstream media’s proverbial eyes, Raven and Evil Angel have collaborated on a project, which premiered this week on VOD and will be available next month on DVD.
According to press material, Leigh Raven Prove Something is director John Stagliano’s “intense story of an exotic fetish adventurer compelled to hide her true beauty under conservative hair, makeup, glasses and a business suit.”
Raven’s distinctive look is central to the identity of her character in the film. Her body is elaborately tattooed, she wears her hair cropped short and her tongue is split. Consequently, her character fears how the world might react to her real self, which she hides from co-workers in her vanilla workplace. This creates a series of sexually-tense scenarios that unfold throughout the course of Leigh Raven Prove Something.
“This movie came at a pivotal point in my career, and this story really hit home for me,” Raven explained. “I’m done being what people want or expect me to be, and I thank John and the Evil Angel team for allowing me to tell that story.”
“John and I really put all of ourselves into making Prove Something. I’m so honored that he trusted me in helping with casting and sharing thoughts and ideas. John respected my opinions and catered the character and story around my actual personality,” Raven added.
According to Stagliano, the film showcases Raven’s acting skills, as well as her sexual talents.
“It is a great pleasure to work with an intelligent performer who I can bounce ideas off of and who contributes so much of herself. Leigh was a real pleasure to work with,” Stagliano said.
It is interesting to see these entities working together, especially in what seems like a positive project overall.
