L.A. LGBT Community to #Resist Bigotry June 11
WEST HOLLYWOOD, Calif. – This year, the site of the first American Pride parade in 1970 will host the first #ResistMarch, an opportunity for participants to demonstrate commitment to equal rights for the LGBT community, women, immigrants and people of all races.
The event is a response to the alarming increase in bigotry following the presidential election in November, and the perception the bias is at least tacitly condoned by the current administration and congress.
“As crazy as it sounds, this year more than ever we need to advocate more than ever for equality and human rights for all,” said director, performer, producer and raconteur Chi Chi LaRue.
The #ResistMarch will begin at 8 a.m. Sunday, June 11, at the corner of Hollywood and Highland and follow a 3.2-mile route to Santa Monica Boulevard and Robertson in West Hollywood.
A new Pride-themed cock ring designed by the fashion-forward minds at LaRue’s Channel 1 Releasing will debut in conjunction with the march. Made of 100-percent velvety-soft silicone, the Rascal Pride Ring displays all six colors of the rainbow flag—the symbol of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender pride and the LGBT social movement.
The ring is available at the boutique, ChiChiLaRues.com and BoneyardToys.com.
