Kodak Debuts Wi-Fi Enabled Camera
UNITED STATES – Originally slated to ship in June, Kodak’s first Wi-Fi enabled camera has shipped at last. Assuming a user is in Wi-Fi range, they can now email photos to their PC without having to plug in to anything.“The Kodak EasyShare-one camera combines the power of sharing, taking, organizing, and printing pictures into a single, highly innovative product,” said Greg Westbrook, vice president of the Eastman Kodak Company.
The EasyShare-one will retail for around $600, with the added cost of $4.99 per month to connect to any of T-Mobile USA’s approximately 6,000 hot spots. T-Mobile hot spots are found at various airports, stores, hotels, coffee houses and other businesses around the country.
Kodak’s first generation of EasyShare has a resolution of 4.0 megapixels, storage room for up to 1500 photos, 3x optical zoom, and a 3 inch touch screen.
“Only the EasyShare-one camera has the ability to send e-mails from the camera, to connect to the Kodak EasyShare Gallery at home and on-the-go from thousands of hotspots worldwide, to store up to 1,500 favorite pictures, and to optimize viewing and operation via its unique touch screen and graphical menus,” Westbrook said. “It’s the ultimate picture sharing device, redefining the digital photography experience.”
The EasyShare will be available shortly at a variety of major retailers, including Circuit City and CompUSA.
