KLSX Drops Dave Pounder and Chase Styles Show
LOS ANGELES, CA – Los Angeles radio station 97.1 KLSX has pulled “Real Talk with Dave Pounder and Chase Styles,” according to an email Pounder sent to adult entertainment news outlets today.“The station was receiving too much heat from the network regarding a perceived endorsement of pornography, so they ended up pulling the show,” Pounder stated in the email.
Among other shows, KLSX is the home of the Adam Carolla Show. Pounder was an occasional guest on one of Carolla’s previous radio shows, the popular call-in show “Loveline.”
No mention of the cancellation has been made on the website for KLSX, however “Real Talk” is no longer listed on the website’s “lineup” page. The time slot that had been allotted for “Real Talk,” Saturday nights from midnight to 1:00 am, is now occupied by a show called “All Talk Recovery” with John Tomkinson.
Pounder expressed disappointment over the sudden cancellation and the station’s reason for dropping “Real Talk,” noting that the show “really didn’t have anything to do with pornography aside from the fact Chase and I came from the business.”
Pounder added that he and Styles “suspected something like this might happen.”
“The frustrating part is that we disclosed all of this to the station from the very beginning, yet they backed out of the contract at the very last minute,” Pounder said. “We forewent other business opportunities to proceed with this radio program, and now those opportunities are no longer available to us.”
With a background that includes an MBA in Information Management from Arizona State University, Pounder has made numerous television and radio appearances over the years, proving both an entertaining and well-spoken advocate for the adult entertainment industry.
Pounder isn’t ruling out legal action against KLSX over the sudden cancellation of his show, stating in his email that “Our attorneys are reviewing the contract specifics to determine if we are due any damages as a result of this latest action.”
Styles and Pounder are now looking into the possibility of taking their show to satellite radio.
