Kink, Doc Johnson to Create ‘Game-Changing’ Line
NORTH HOLLYWOOD, Calif. – Two heavyweights in the adult industry have signed a pact to produce a signature line of BDSM gear and toys.
BDSM and fetish studio Kink.com and pleasure product manufacturer Doc Johnson plan to release a made-in-America Kink-branded collection in time for the ANME show in July.
“It is our intent to do something entirely new to our industry with our partnership with Kink,” said Chad Braverman, chief operating officer for Doc Johnson. “We know that creating a strategic collaboration with the team at Kink allows us both to align our creative forces for enormous potential. Using our combined resources, we aim to create a complete Kink lifestyle experience via a curated collection of intimate products manufactured by Doc Johnson. The result of this collaboration will be game-changing.”
Vice President of Sales Scott Watkins said partnering with Kink to create the new line gives Doc Johnson’s 40th anniversary “a lot of meaning.”
“This is an exciting year for Doc Johnson,” he said. “Our partners at Kink share the same focus as we do with our brand — always create a fantastic customer experience.”
Founded in 1997 by U.K. native Peter Acworth and now based in San Francisco, Kink.com has attained a high profile in both adult and the mainstream.
“Our performers are really demanding about what we use on shoots, so for years we designed much of the equipment in house,” said Kris Ramirez, director of retail product development and merchandising for Kink. “But it wasn’t scalable. Our partnership with Doc Johnson finally allows us to bring strong, well-made, authentically kinky products to a wide audience.”
