Kentucky Anti-Porn Group Erects First in Billboard Series
LOUISVILLE, KY — A group based in Louisville, KY and calling itself Reclaim Our Culture, Kentuckiana (ROCK) has erected the first of what it says will be a series of anti-porn billboards in nearby Clarksville, IN.The billboard uses the letters “XXX” to catch eyes and declares that porn is “garbage in, garbage out.” It is located close to an adult store.
ROCK regularly liaisons with the public to promote its views –some of which are that porn is an attack on marriage, and exploits women and children. It also offers “help” to strippers who want to end their careers.
ROCK president Bryan Wickens told the local NBC affiliate station, “this (pornography) does have a public face. There are public harms associated with it. And when we take this in, and again — it’s not just sex businesses, it’s on the internet, it comes out, and there are harmful effects onto our community.”
The billboard project is costing ROCK nearly $8,000. The group will hold a press conference under the billboard at 2:30 tomorrow afternoon.
