Keeping it Fresh: ImLive Launches ‘Candy Shows’
For 2018, premium webcam platform ImLive has launched a new audience interaction space that dances around a freemium experience, the Candy Show.
Candy Shows are interactive events that happen in two parts. The first part is the preview, where models give users a taste of what their show will include. The idea is to get users to tip or send vibes in order to get a seat for the second part — the actual show.
ImLive’s Chloe Kirton explained to YNOT, “Hosts can go online and say ‘I want to do a shower show today, and I’m going to give people 10 minutes or 15 minutes or even 30 minutes to start buying tickets to come to my Candy Show.’”
Models can hold the start of the show until they reach a minimum number of ticket sales or participants, but they also may start the show at any time in anticipation of more participants joining in.
“This gives [models] the option to choose how long they want to have the pre-show and then also choose how long they want to have the show itself,” Kirton added.
Candy Shows have replaced ImLive’s Club Shows, which were more conventional and relatively constrained 30-minute blocks of live performance. By contrast, this new format leaves programming decisions to the models — the length of time each part of their show may last, the number of credits members need to pay to get a seat and their tip goals. Candy Shows are also more interactive, intended to tantalize and engage members in a relatively public space.
“Before, we had Happy Hour and then we had Club Shows, and the members have gotten used to it,” Kirton shared some rationale behind the change. “I think [the members] need something else — a change to spark things back up.”
According to Kirton, “Happy Hour was absolutely amazing, and then we did Club Shows and they hit the roof – and now hopefully Candy Shows will peak as well.”
ImLive’s development of Candy Shows – a direct response to consumer behaviors indicating a desire for change – is significant. This programming evolution points to the need to constantly evaluate what’s working in a service provision space, as well as taking action when trends indicate it’s time. In ImLive’s case, this helps keep programming fresh, thus retaining members, which is in the best interest of models, as well as their bottom line. This also makes the ImLive platform accessible to additional models.
“We are more premium, one-to-one space than freemium,” Kirton explained, “but this area is more of a freemium model because it’s open to all the members – like a one-to-many show.”
“For models, it doesn’t matter if [they are] not used to working with the private, premium aspect of ImLive because they’ve mostly worked with a freemium site. They can still use Candy Shows because it’s very much like a freemium one-to-many feature,” she added.
Any model can utilize ImLive’s Candy Show option. The platform is monitored regularly, and hosts with questions can contact ImLive support through forums, emails and Skype.
