Jayda Diamonde Tackles Mainstream Role
YNOT – Jayda “Queen of Extreme” Diamonde can add another type of movie credit to her resume after recently wrapping a supporting role in a mainstream film.
Diamonde portrays, among several other small parts, an adult performer in the indie flick Boot Tracks, starring Stephen Dorff, Michelle Monaghan and Willem Dafoe. Based on Matthew F. Jones’ novel of the same name, the dark psychological thriller follows an ex-con (Dorff) and a porn star (Monaghan) as the pair undertake a violence-laced journey to kill an enemy of the ex-con’s prison mentor.
Diamonde happened into the project almost by accident: She was dancing in Cleveland when the film crew arrived seeking supporting cast members.
“I want to be like Sasha Grey and do more mainstream roles in the future,” she said. “Raven Alexis appeared on Adult Swim’s Children’s Hospital and Tera Patrick was on Aqua Teen Hunger Force, and that’s just a few of the adult starlets who have gone Hollywood recently.
“The door is wide open for adult stars to transition to mainstream,” Diamonde added. “I want to be the one they’re talking about for some time. My fans will get to see another side of me, and that excites me.”
Production for Boot Tracks wrapped in August. The film is expected to release in May 2012.
