Janine Lindemulder to Play Prison Vixen for Real
EUGENE, OR — Fans wondering where to see Pirates star and Blink-182 album cover girl Janine Lindemulder may want to consider visiting her in prison. Federal prison, that is. After years of apparently profitable performances as an empowered and overpowered object of both male and female sexual desire, the Internal Revenue Service has decided that it’s tired of waiting for its piece of the one-time Vivid Girl’s action.
On Monday, United States Magistrate Judge Thomas Coffin ordered Lindemulder, whose legal name is Janine M. James, to serve six months in federal prison and one-year of supervised release. Her post-prison release period will include a residential community corrections center stint of six months – and will likely not include 24-hour live cam coverage of the excitement.
At issue is $200,000 in taxes that the 40-year-old former Penthouse model and pornographic come-back sensation neglected to pay and which the IRS did not neglect to notice missing. Lindemulder pled guilty of willfully failing to pay her outstanding federal income tax debt in August 2008.
While porn haters frequently claim that performers are financial underachievers, Lindemulder’s $200,000 debt nonetheless accrued and between 2000 and 2006 she spent $750,000 on homes, vehicles, furniture and a piano.
In addition to her prison visit and residential center participation, Lindemulder must pay all outstanding taxes, currently estimated to be $294,000.
Lindemulder is scheduled to report for prison on March 10, 2009.
