Israeli Sexologist’s Car Robbed of Sex Toys
JERUSALEM, ISRAEL — It’s frustrating enough reporting a crime to the police, but the crime against Shelly Pasternak could be described as frustrating for at least 41 people. That’s how many sex toys were stolen when thieves broke into Pasternak’s automobile on Wednesday.According to police representative Micky Rosenfeld, “Thieves broke into her car and apparently store from her a caseload of vibrators.”
That’s at least 40 vibrators and a $200 dildo, according to Pasternak, who is a Tel Aviv sexologist and not merely a very sexually active woman with a lot of toys.
It’s likely that the thieves in question were surprised when they opened the two metal cases that they’d pinched from Pasternak. Similar cases often contain spending audio-visual equipment; these contained massage oil, lube, dildos, vibrators, ben wa balls, and handcuffs.
Pasternak estimates that the haul came to about $2,000 worth of fun, although Rosenfeld is less willing to propose a dollar amount. “It’s difficult to say the exact value of the items stolen,” he maintains, “but obviously we’re searching for these items just as with any other incident of theft.
The 32-year-old Israeli television sexpert who conducts workshops and lectures at bachelor and bachelorette parties is less interested in the whereabouts of the toys and more concerned about a book of receipts that was stored inside one of the cases. Unlike the manufacturers of the various stimulating sex products, Pasternak’s customers would generally prefer to remain unknown by the general public.
