Is that Your Vibe Ringing, or Mine?
SAN FRANCISCO – If the manufacturer of a new pleasure product has its way, the indispensable smartphone may become even more indispensable.
Startup IZIVIBE’s namesake product functions as an iPhone cover, looks like a hairbrush and performs like a vibrator. According to the manufacturer, it’s “the world’s first sex toy that uses the vibrations of your smartphone.”
Personal-gadget-powered vibrators aren’t exactly a new concept. OhMiBod — thought to be the first manufacturer in the space — launched an iPod-powered vibe in 2008. Apps that allow cell phones to control vibrators have been around since at least 2012.
Literally turning a phone into a vibrator that can be controlled locally or remotely? That’s a new concept.
“Simple but effective, IZIVIBE’s internal dildo structure is designed to propagate the phone’s vibrations along the entire length to get a maximum of pleasure,” the company notes on its just-launched website. “Control volume … to adjust intensity easily. Customize your own mode. Discover other users’ modes. Launch a mode for free-hand experience.”
Made of 100-percent medical-grade silicone, hypoallergenic and phthalate-free, IZIVIBE’s seven vibration modes are controlled by a free app for Apple Watch or iPhone.
IZIVIBE won’t be available until sometime in 2016. In the meantime, iPhone users, you may want to invest in some additional batteries.
