Innovation + Sexy = 10 Years of Success
VENICE, Calif. – In October 2004, a 30-something North Carolina native and open marriage advocate delivered a bouncing baby website. In the 10 years since, the website has grown, as have Brandi Love’s popularity, professional options and reputation as an articulate spokesperson for the adult industry and alternative lifestyles.
When Love launched BrandiLove.com, the site was an amateur’s pit stop on the information superhighway. Today, Love is anything but an amateur. She has worked for Brazzers, Girlfriends Films, Hustler Video, Tom Byron Pictures and Wicked Pictures in addition to founding two multimedia companies and an organization for parents who work in adult, appeared on numerous television shows and presented symposia at several universities.
All of that, and she somehow finds the time to shoot 100 percent of the content she posts on her website, which is interactive and integrated with social media.
“I’ll be honest, I’m not the techie, but I have long been committed to making my site interactive,” said Love, who calls herself a “professor of erotic porn.” “I remember back in 2007-ish, my husband was asked to speak at the Internext show in Miami about the role of social media in adult, and people looked at him like he was crazy.
“I believe our decision to embrace the social aspects of adult entertainment is one of the reasons we are still profitable online while so many sites and programs have closed,” she continued. “If you take a look at the recent news out of Kink.com you can see where forward-thinking programs are heading, and we have been there—albeit on a much smaller scale—for years.”
Love doesn’t plan to stop innovating anytime soon, she said. She intends to continue adding new, original content to her website multiple times a week. In addition, the site soon will boast a video theater that will update multiple times a day.
“One of the great things about the social aspects of my site has to do with reporting and feedback,” Love said. “I know exactly what my member base is looking for and, although I may not personally shoot that content, I can and will certainly be able to provide them with it.”
