Infidelity Dating Site Gleeden.com Expands to U.S.
YNOT – Gleeden.com, an established brand in Europe, is hoping to reform modern-day matrimony for Americans. With a cadre of women behind the scenes, the extramarital dating site puts a radical twist to the term “wives club.”
“Gleeden.com was created for the women around me,” said co-founder Teddy Truchot. “Everyday women, mothers, friends, co-workers and neighbors — every woman — is represented and understood by Gleeden.”
Truchot said he and his brother conceived the idea while listening to the frustrations and marital problems of the women surrounding them: friends, family, mothers, sisters and colleagues. These were everyday leading normal lives who longed for a venue where they could be open and honest without being judged. The brothers teamed with some of the women to pursue the goal of creating a comfortable, elegant and secure place for married people seeking something more.
Founded in 2009, Gleeden.com certainly is not the first extramarital site on the dating scene. Rival U.S.-based AshleyMadison.com has been around much longer and in August announced an aggressive expansion into Europe — Gleeden’s primary market. Truchot said Gleeden’s focus on women gives it an edge, though.
“Other websites focus on the needs and wants of men to have physical affairs without being discovered,” he said. “Gleeden.com goes beyond that crude concept and promotes honesty and freedom within a relationship. In an age where divorces are multiplying, extramarital affairs can intervene as therapy for a couple.
“Gleeden.com is a facilitator of confidence where people can disregard the ‘infidelity taboo’ with guaranteed discretion,” he added. “Our ability to strengthen and revive relationships is highly commended by our one-million-plus members.”
The people behind Gleeden consider privacy and discretion of paramount importance, which is why they employ round-the-clock moderation teams. Moderators also ensure every profile is legitimate and genuine, weeding out bots, spam and fake accounts.
The site’s affiliate program pays up to 250 euros (about $334) per sale.
