Industry Vets, Legal Eagles to Present Seminars during FSC Summit
YNOT – Two days after the upcoming presidential election, the inaugural Free Speech Coalition Summit will take place in the Los Angeles area. The one-day event will feature a slate of educational panels covering business topics of interest to adult industry professionals.
“We are so excited to be able to present this one-day show and to address important business topics at this turbulent time for our business and the nation,” FSC Chief Executive Officer Diane Duke said. “We hear every day from industry members who are looking for ideas and advice on what they need to do to stay in the game. This show has an unprecedented lineup of leaders that will speak from an historic perspective, as well as cover current issues relevant in today’s business environment.”
The Hot Seat panel — composed of prominent industry attorneys Paul Cambria, Lou Sirkin, Michael Murray and Marc Randazza, moderated by attorney and FSC Chairman Jeffrey Douglas — will deliver opinions and perspective about current legal issues. With panelists who represent some of the biggest companies in adult and who have participated in important cases involving 18 U.S.C. §2257, piracy and obscenity, the discussion is sure to spark fireworks.
The last seminar of the day, entitled “If I Knew then What I Know Now,” will feature some of the industry’s notable innovators, including Video Secrets’ Greg Clayman, AVN founder Paul Fishbein, Cal-Exotics’ Sue Colvin, Wicked Pictures’ Steve Orenstein, XBIZ’s Alec Helmy and Vivid Entertainment’s Steve Hirsch. Panel members plan to discuss the strategies and tactics that helped build success for their companies, as well as what they would do differently if they had the chance for a do-over.
“This show is scheduled for two days after the election,” Duke said. “It will be a time when a lot of us will be anxious to look at the election results and how they will affect the industry. It’s a great time for professionals from every industry segment to get together and talk about the short-term and long-reaching strategies.”
Attendance is free, thanks to the generosity of sponsors including California Exotic Novelties, Manwin, CCBill, Wicked Pictures, Girlfriends Films, Adam & Eve, Video Secrets and The Screaming O.
The FSC Summit will begin at 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 8 at the Sofitel Hotel in West Hollywood, Calif. For more information or to register, visit the FSC Summit webpage or call 818-348-9373.
