Industry Trend: Content Delivery via A2P SMS
TAMPA BAY, Fla. – Application-to-person SMS technologies may help webmasters increase revenues by delivering content directly to mobile users, according to leased-content provider Webmaster Central. The company reported seeing a dramatic increase in the number of clients using the process.
According to a company spokesperson, Webmaster Central has seen a 150-percent increase in clients requesting customized solutions for delivering content through SMS via carrier platforms worldwide.
“This is one of the hottest growing trends in adult content delivery, there’s no doubt about it,” said Andy A, WC’s founder and chief executive officer. “It’s not just about Europe anymore either, because we’re seeing demand for content delivery via SMS to mobile users in Central and South America, as well as Africa. It’s just amazing how quickly this is catching on.”
According to a report by Transparency Market Research, the dollar value of the global A2P SMS market is expected to hit US $70 billion by 2020, up from US $50 billion in 2013. The growth will be fueled in part by the growth in mobile banking and payment technologies, as well as an increased interest in marketing content via A2P SMS.
“We have the ability to create customized delivery systems through our API and XML gateway as well as through our white-label platform, and that flexibility is winning us a lot of new business from companies looking to profit from the SMS rush,” Andy A said.
