Industry Leaders to Discuss #MeToo at TPF, CAM U
Tempe, AZ — What impact has the #MeToo movement had on the adult industry, specifically webcam? Has new social awareness surrounding #MeToo brought issues impacting cam to light? Or, does this sector of adult media offer a unique opportunity for performers to retain control of their workspaces in ways they couldn’t in the past?
A panel of distinguished women from throughout the adult industry will explore these questions and more during this year’s Phoenix Forum (TPF) seminar, “#MeToo and Live Cams.”
The event is happening on Mar. 23 at 1 pm in the Tempe Mission Palms. Speakers include Jaime Rodriguez (Flirt4Free), attorney Karen Tynan, Liz R. (Streamate), Lisa Ann (TheLisaAnn.com), Lotus Lain (FSC), GG Terra (CAM4), and Princess Camryn (iWantEmpire). Sociologist Dr. Chauntelle Tibbals co-organized and will be moderating the event.
“Mainstream entertainment is having their moment, but where is our moment and movement?” Tynan asked. “We know that discrimination and harassment are illegal and improper, but what we do to make sure that we are recognizing and responding to behaviors that can be problematic is important and needs to be discussed openly.”
In addition to legal considerations, engagement of #MeToo-related issues impacts the overall wellbeing of the adult industry community.
“I am looking forward to beginning the needed conversation, answering questions, and continuing my availability for the greater good of the industry,” Lisa Ann shared.
The “#MeToo and Live Cams” seminar is part of CAM U. New to this year’s TPF programming, CAM U is a full day of educational sessions dedicated to the business interests of cam performers, broadcasters and hosts. Presented by YNOTCam.com, a “B2M” educational and community space for cam models, CAM U seminars include “What Models Want,” “Expanding the Cam Market in 2018,” “#MeToo and Live Cams” and “Proven Tactics for Cam Affiliates.” Seminars will be held throughout the day on Friday Mar. 23, 2018 in Palm F at the Tempe Mission Palms.
“From live hosts and models to the vast business behind them, webcam has shown itself to be one of the most significant sectors in the adult industry today,” a representative from YNOT Cam shared. “We are dedicated to engaging all possible aspects of the cam process during our very first ‘CAM U’ day.”
