Indiegogo Reinstates Pleasure Product Crowdfunding Campaign
HOUSTON – Mainstream website Indiegogo has reinstated a Texas company’s crowdfunding campaign after previously suspending the adult novelty product as “inappropriate.”
Sikwrx Inc. re-launched its campaign for BlackCatBox earlier this week, after repositioning the product as innovative technology. The Indiegogo page carefully notes the BlackCatBox is “the first smartphone WiFi stroking device — NOT a vibrator.”
“We were surprised by the Indiegogo suspension, because we went through pre-approval and were very careful to follow all of the Indiegogo guidelines,” Sikwrx Chief Executive Officer Scott said. “After further review from the Indiegogo staff, we were reinstated. Obviously, we’re very pleased with the decision to let our BlackCatBox campaign continue.”
According to a statement distributed by Sikwrx, the BlackCatBox “is the first WiFi stroking device designed for smartphone fun. What makes BlackCatBox different is its remote accessibility. When you turn the device on and a friend logs onto the website, they can, with a password you provide them, control the device.
“The device itself connects to WiFi and then sends the feed to connected mobile devices over WiFi, 3G and 4G cellular networks.”
The rechargeable BlackCatBox reportedly weighs about as much as a hardcover novel and operates for more than 30 minutes on a single charge. Development costs to date have equaled approximately $100,000 for design, patent filing, prototyping, software validation and programming, according to the product’s Indiegogo page.
The project seeks another $100,000 in funding to “fast-track production,” which includes finalizing silicone molds, purchasing plastic molds and beginning the manufacturing process.
“Any additional funds will be allocated to additional products, as well as advancing user-friendly mobile app development,” the page notes.
“We know we have a fun, forward-thinking adult pleasure product and are dedicated to creating Cyber Sinsual technologies that are user-friendly,” Scott said. “We hope people will visit our Indiegogo page and support this new wave of adult products.”
