Through these questions and answers you’ll learn a bit about familiar names in the adult Internet business, how they got started, what they love about the biz, and where they see the adult Web in five years. If there’s a particular someone you’d like to know more about, or if you’re interested in doing your own interview, please contact Bob.
YNOT: What drew you to the industry?
SunnyJack:I knew that the Internet would become our future. I didn’t think about anything particular, especially getting into porn. I thought it would be an interesting experience in my life, participating in this business. There was nobody who could help me to get in. It happened the way it did. I found myself in the middle of the whole machine. It would be difficult now to get off the train at full speed. I’m too much into it.
YNOT: What type of work were you doing before you started in the biz?
SunnyJack: I didn’t work professionally. Before I started in the biz I was at school. I didn’t think seriously about starting any business. It was a sudden, impulsive decision that turned to be the right one, thankfully.
YNOT: What types of sites and/or targeted business did you start with?
SunnyJack: At the beginning we didn’t know in which direction we should go. It took us a while to choose the right direction. We decided on niche like smoking fetish. The risk was high, but today I can say it was worth it. Our site is one of the biggest ones in this type on the net. So far we cling to niche, and this has proven to be a good strategy. We’re going to open a site for pantyhose lovers in the future. We are surprised how big a ratio we can achieve. This site may prove to be better than our others because of a specifically targeted market.
YNOT: Did you already have friends in the business?
SunnyJack: There is a difference between friends and people who are friendly. I don’t think I have many friends in this biz, but I can say I know many friendly people. For example this kind of person is YNOTBob from YNOTMasters.com. The YNOT Masters people are still giving me a lot of good advice. But on the other hand, it is much easier to gain enemies than friends. People are jealous of even a small success. We work hard and we learn a lot of things, we do everything step after step. We try to work when everybody else is asleep.
YNOT: Give us your thoughts on how easy or difficult it was for you to get started.
SunnyJack: It would be difficult to put together everything I’ve learned day after day. There was so much information to digest. It was like starting elementary school all over again. Everything that’s new takes time to master. All this work requires a lot of diligence and this leads us to giving up a lot of other things.
YNOT: Where did you begin gathering info about the business?
SunnyJack: I learned from my own mistakes at the very beginning. Every trial taught me something new. I gathered so much information from YNOT Masters, The AdultWebmaster , and PornResource. I’ve also learned valuable tips from established people in this business. Keep quiet and listen: that will take you far. Those are the people who actually have the biggest experience and knowledge. In many ways, they are the pioneers.
YNOT: What changes would you like to see made in the adult Internet industry?
SunnyJack: I would like to see fair competition between companies, but talking about that I’m probably a dreamer. It’s getting really crowded in the industry. The number of materials for adult on the free sites is getting near astronomical proportions. If it is going to be that way any longer, it will be difficult to earn any money for anybody. Paid sites won’t gain any clients and free sites won’t provide those clients. There must be self regulation to combat this trend. Unfortunately, this is a job for the biggest ones in this business, because only they can make other people listen to them.
YNOT: What do you love about the adult Internet industry?
SunnyJack: The many friendly people I’ve met gives me such satisfaction. We get lots of nice e-mails from our members, who love our sites. It’s a great thing to do something for people and they definitely appreciate it. Plus, when I’m asleep I’m earning money.
YNOT: What do you dislike?
YNOT: Where do you see yourself in one year? Five years?
SunnyJack: Maybe it’s not really modest, but I’d like to see myself among the best and the biggest ones. I’d like to continue giving pleasure to people. This biz is changing all the time and it’s difficult to say what is going to happen in five years time. I can only say that with the team at SunnyDollars, we’ll be working very hard. This is what this business requires. A lot of hard work and a lot of time.
YNOT: What are your thoughts on the future of the adult Internet industry?
SunnyJack: I believe this business will continue to develop and Government hopefully won’t be too involved in our industry. It will be difficult to keep with the best and small firms will have difficulties catching up with the biggest companies. There will be several companies who are weeded out.
YNOT: If you had one bit advice you could offer new Webmasters, what would it be?
SunnyJack: Be innovative, work hard, and be honest.
