VALLEY CENTER, Calif. — “Flag it! Flag it! Flag it!” Coralyn Jewel, a popular adult star and director, slapped a slot machine hoping for huge returns. 

I sat next to her on the casino floor at the Harrah’s Resort Southern California on the Rincon Indian Reservation.  She wore a tight blue dress and white kitten heels as we finally were able to speak about her career aspirations.

Like most adult entertainers, there’s always more than meets the eye besides cumshots, bouncing tits, and ball slapping sex scenes. As is the case for Coralyn, I merely scratched the surface of her story, and the four days I spent with this feisty California girl. 

She’s complex, vibrant, and has made a name for herself as an adult and is the owner of successful business ventures. She does all of this while balancing being a single mother to two teenage boys and a loving partner to her boyfriend. This journalist briefly became a part of her world and saw the businesswoman behind her personal swingers lifestyle branding empire. 

Coralyn wrote a well-reviewed book, When The Ice Melts: The Story of Coralyn Jewel, co-authored by Coralyn and journalist Ryan Michaels. The book covers her experiences from her birth in Johannesburg, South Africa, to her meteoric rise into the realm of adult entertainment. 

“My reason for writing my book and sharing my story was for two reasons: I want people to stop the misconceptions and the judgment on why people are involved in the adult industry,” Coralyn said as I watched her playing the machine. “I wanted to be true to myself and be honest about how I became involved in the adult industry and the swinger lifestyle. I wanted to show that I’m not afraid to be who I am so that others can follow in my footsteps.”

“After writing my book, my publisher encouraged me to start pursuing motivational speaking and coaching other couples in the lifestyle as well as those interested in entering the adult industry,” Coralyn added. “I want to be able to guide people to avoid mistakes that I made and help them make good choices. I do this on my own. No one directs me. I  continue to persevere and be successful in anything that I venture into.”

Coralyn has starred in dozens of scenes for high-profile studios such as Adam and Eve, Mile High Media, Devil Films, and Score (to name just a few).  Her professional credits have even expanded into her work as a podcast host for her exclusive, the Hankie Pankie Podcast, which shares the namesake of her swinger’s lifestyle club. 

Being the podcast enthusiast that I am, I wanted to learn more about her show and what led her to enter the world of audio broadcasting. 

“I decided to launch my Podcast as a way to educate others about the lifestyle and the adult industry again,” Coralyn explained. “It’s all about trying to break the stigma and the misconceptions about why people enter this world. I am really enjoying my podcast and I feel that even with every guest I have on my show I learn something from them.”

A Hankie Pankie-branded adult card game is also out, intended as an ice-breaker in the form of a simple, no-confusion card game.

“Everything in life that I have ever put my heart and soul into, I make it a point to continue to do it until I am successful,” Coralyn said. “I will continue to challenge myself in everything that I do.”

For Coralyn, the hustle doesn’t stop. She is working on releasing a CBD-based personal lubricant trademarked with her name. An award-winning wedding and event planner, she’s also working on a second book and intends to hold more seminars and book signings in the near future. She also recently booked appearances at all four Exxxotica Expos in Chicago, Il., Miami, Fla., Edison, N.J., and Washington, D.C.

In my time with Coralyn, the rush of enjoying farcical, absurd twists in the day and getting to know each other as colleagues and friends led me to one conclusion about her: When you hustle like Coralyn, you see results like Coralyn.
