So you want to throw a porn party, but how do you plan one? These days a lot of members have come to expect the opportunity to meet their Web girl at a party. So throwing parties and planning events where members can meet their Web hostesses is essential. There are a lot of questions that come up when planning a barmeet. I will try to address some of the most important ones here.

WHAT IS A BARMEET?

A barmeet is an event planned by Webmasters and Web girls to help promote their site and offer some personal interaction with their current members. It’s a social event that usually takes place at a night spot like a bar, club or adult establishment. Most barmeets begin around \’ pm and go until the place closes. A lot of Web girls also use this opportunity to meet people for photo shoots that occur at the after party, usually in a local hotel.

WHERE SHOULD WE HAVE A BARMEET?

Ideally you want to have your party in a location that is also open to the public so you can reach out to potential new customers. But you also have to be careful of the type of establishment you choose to approach. Not everyone will be excited to host or be present at a porn party. A safe bet is to contact a local strip club, go-go bar or swingers club. You wouldn’t have to worry about offending any of the occupants.

You could also approach a bar and set up a private party, but this wouldn’t help you advertise to anyone outside of your members. I’m not sure how it works everywhere, but I’ve been involved with barmeets in Manhattan that were held at bars and still remained open to the public. It really depends on the owner. Often times, if you can guarantee that a certain amount of people will be coming to their establishment, owners have no problem with it.

DOES IT COST A LOT TO THROW A PARTY?

Barmeets should not cost the planners very much at all. The only investment an organizer should make is his or her time. I wouldn’t pay anyone to use their space. The bar would make its money from selling drinks, and if it’s a place that already has a cover charge, it would be that much more profitable for them. And your presence would only increase the party atmosphere at the location. It should be an even trade.

One exception would be hiring a DJ if the location doesn’t already have one lined up for the night. Good, loud music and alcohol make parties happen.

WHO SHOULD BE INVITED?

Invite all your members. Also invite other Web girls. As you search for the ideal spot to throw your party, contact other Web girls in your area. There are Webmaster resource sites that allow you to search for amateurs by region. I would do that to locate girls in your area. Send them personal emails and let them know that you’re planning a meet and ask if they’d like to participate. The more girls, the better. The idea is to bring as many members as possible so that all the Web girls involved can gain new members. It’s an easier sell if a guy is already a paying customer for another site. He’s more likely to sign up for your site too, especially after meeting and talking in person.

HOW DO YOU PROMOTE THE MEET?

Online promotion is essential. You should build a party page for your site. It’s an advertisement for upcoming parties that you will be attending or organizing. It should list important information like the party date and the location (include the phone number and address). Also include information about local hotels/ motels for people who will come from out of town. The party page should also explain the proper etiquette for people who plan to join the party. Develop protocol for what is and what isn’t acceptable behavior at your party. Also, be sure to include thumbnail pics of other girls who will be attending and link to their sites. This is great way to trade traffic and get a little more exposure.

Contact local media to cover the party. A few of the parties I’ve been at were covered by penthouse.com and HBO. Contact the big players but don’t leave out local newspapers and cable news stations.

WHAT HAPPENS AT THE PARTY?

That’s really up to you. You can get as raunchy as you want, depending on the location. If you want to have group sex at the party, you better find a swingers club. That won’t fly at the local tavern. Your members might want to take pictures with you and you might want to show some flesh in these pictures. Make sure you find out if you are allowed to flash at the location before the party. Let everyone know. I’ve heard of several people being arrested for flashing in bars. So you might want to make arrangements to hold the meet in a more appropriate location like a strip club.

The party doesn’t have to have an agenda beyond an occasion to meet members and hang out with other Web girls. But you can plan activities to make the night more interesting. You can have contests and raffles. Have each of the Web girls donate something to the contest cause, like a pair of panties or a free week’s membership to their sites. Giveaways always bring excitement to parties, especially if members have a chance to take home a little piece of you. Put some imagination into the night. You can also make it a theme night (toga party, S&M, etc…), whatever it takes to create a memorable night that will keep people coming back and hopefully with more friends the next time.

IS IT SAFE TO HAVE BARMEETS?

Yes, but you should always be careful. Most places have security already. If you are going to have a party at a location that doesn’t provide security, look into hiring some. You should also have friends who will be watch out for all of the girls at the party. I’ve never had any unpleasant experiences at barmeets but I am always aware of my surroundings.

There is a lot of legwork that goes into to organizing a barmeet. Securing the location, recruiting other girls to party with you and promoting the party takes time. But if you do it right, it won’t cost you a lot of money. And the work pays off. Barmeets can be really fun and the members always appreciate your willingness to meet and hang out with them.
