PHILADELPHIA, PA — Though synonymous with “freedom” shortly after the 9-11 attacks, France has been synonymous with “erotic” for centuries. Now HotMovies.com is bringing some of France’s erotic tradition to the entire world, thanks to a nearly complete collection of the classic Alpha-France film catalogue.Thanks to a partnership with Alpha-France, “the classic of classics among European adult companies,” according to a HotMovies press release, the popular Video-on-Demand website now carries nearly every 35 mm film ever created by the European golden age production company.

The New York City premier of Alpha-France’s full-length feature, Pussy Talk, in 1975 caught the world’s attention and other titles appeared in six Parisian theaters owned by the company during the 1970s and early 1980s, with audience attendance regularly counted in the hundreds of thousands during each films run.

“Truly, the films have gained a status as cult classics, well beyond any categorization as purely adult cinema,” HotMovies quotes Alpha-France Corp. CEO Marc Mischkind as observing. “We are excited that a whole new generation will be able to see what the buzz was all about.”

In addition to classics including Perversions of a Young Bride, Hot Young Widows, and The Black Silk Stockings, HotMovies.com will also showcase several movies from Blue One, a more recent enterprise of Alpha-France’s owner, Francis Mischkind. Although unavailable within the United States on DVD, more than three dozen titles from the two production companies will be available for VOD enjoyment.

As James Cybert, director of business development for HotMovies explains it, “National A-1 is excited to be the first company to bring this excellent content to America since the 1980s. We really are proud to be able to offer such quality work to our audience. Movies like this don’t get made anymore.”

Among the dozen films schedule for release on HotMovies are an assortment that include names now familiar within France and the United States. Clara Morgane has become a television hostess, commercial actress, and mainstream performer – whereas French-Vietnamese Katsumi/Katsuni has been honored with numerous AVN Awards, including the 2008 trophy for “Best Sex Scene in a Foreign-Shot Production.”
