HotMovies Launches Initiative Supporting the Marsha P. Johnson Institute
Philadelphia, PA — In celebration of Pride Month and honoring the civil rights movement currently underway, HotMovies.com has created an initiative to support the Marsha P. Johnson Institute.
Marsha “Pay It No Mind” Johnson, also known as “Black Marsha,” was a prominent figure in the Stonewall movement of 1969. An activist and drag queen, Johnson brought an underrepresented voice to the attention of the LGBTQ+ community.
In keeping with Johnson’s legacy, the Marsha P. Johnson Institute works to promote and defend the human rights of the black trans community, a historically marginalized group that comes under a disproportionate amount of violence, harassment, and prejudice. The MPJI works in the areas of advocacy, organization and community building to accomplish its mission.
HotMovies has committed to donating $500 to the MPJI and is also looking to incentivize its fanbase to contribute to the Institute. During the month of June, any HotMovies user who donates to the Marsha P. Johnson Institute will receive one free VOD minute for every dollar donated. Just email your receipt to us at donate@hotmovies.com
